Just a reminder for those of you who live in Israel. On Monday, May 30th I am presenting “Yossele's World” in Netanya at The New Shul (also called the McDonald Shul), co-sponsored by the Young Israel of North Netanya.
The following week, on Monday, June 6th I will again be presenting “Yossele's World” in Jerusalem at Beit Haknesset Hovevei Tzion in Talbiyeh, co-sponsored by Beit Haknesset Hanassi.
The presentation of Yossele Rosenblatt's life includes films, recordings, and a power-point presentation that describes Yossele's meteoric rise and subsequent sad downfall and the outstanding contribution that he made to the world of chazzonus. (any questions contact me at cbjmusic@aol.com).
Re: Akiva Zimmerman – there will be a memorial for Akiva on June 6th at the Tel Aviv Great Synagogue. Maariv davening and concert.

During the first hour I am debuting Simcha Leiner for the show – lovers of chazzonus should listen to his “V'lirushalayim”. Note that April 9th Motzoi Shabbos at 9:00 PM I will be giving my ‘Best of Jewish Comedy” presentation at the Chabad of the Upper West 60's - located on W. 67th St. just east of Broadway, in the Drisha building. The following morning April 10th the same comedy presentation will be given at the Great Neck Synagogue at 10:00 AM. I've been giving this presentation over 35 years to synagogue groups and Jewish organizations. An hour+ of non-stop laughter.
A note about Simcha Leiner. He attended Yeshivas Ner Yisroel in Baltimore and studied music at John's Hopkins Peabody School and at Yeshiva University's Belz School of Music. He has served as a professional Baal Tefilah since the age of Bar Mitzvah and is a Chazan for the Yomim Noraim in Woodmere, N.Y.

This program features a recording of an outstanding concert that took place at The Jewish Center in Manhattan on the evening of December 24th, 2015. Although it was not ‘professionally' recorded, you will surely be able to appreciate the flavor and excellence of the event. The three cantors from the Upper West Side are Chaim Dovid Berson, Yanky Lemmer and Zevi Muller. The choir was led by Meier Briskman. Danny Gildar was the accompanist. And I had the pleasure of being the MC.
